Hamza Foundation Academy For the Deaf
Hamza Foundation Academy for the Deaf (HFAD) is one of the projects initiated by the Hamza Foundation. The journey of HFAD began in 1988 when Sheikh Abid Hussain Late, having faced challenges in providing quality education for his three deaf sons and one deaf daughter, envisioned building an educational institute for the deaf. The foundation was laid in Lahore’s Gulberg area, and eight months of rigorous training were provided to selected teachers before formal classes commenced in May 1989.Over time, the need for expansion became evident, leading to the laying of the brick foundation for the existing building on January 10th, 1997, with Malik Miraj Khalid, the Acting Prime Minister at that time, presiding over the ceremony. After five years of hard work, the new building was completed, and on May 27th, 2003, it was inaugurated by Mir Zafar Ullah Khan Jamali.
HFAD stands as a testament to the determination and vision of Sheikh Abid Hussain Late, who sought to empower the hearing-impaired children of Pakistan by providing them with quality education and opportunities for a brighter future.Through the relentless efforts of the Hamza Foundation management and staff, HFAD continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these students, ensuring they receive the care, attention, and education they deserve.
Sabra Secondary School Karachi
In 1992, Sheikh Abid Hussain took an admirable step by founding Sabra Secondary School. The primary goal behind this initiative was to revolutionise the education system and make a positive impact. The school was specifically designed to cater to the needs of the underprivileged members of society, ensuring that they receive the quality education that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.Sheikh Abid Hussain was dedicated to eradicating class privileges and bringing about positive change. He believed that quality education played a crucial role in not only shaping the moral and spiritual development of students but also in providing them with intellectual enlightenment.
By creating opportunities for individuals to enhance their quality of life, we empower them to utilise their education as a powerful tool in shaping a better society. Education not only equips individuals with knowledge and skills, but it also instils values and principles that drive positive change. When people are given the chance to thrive and contribute, they become catalysts for progress, leading us towards a brighter future for all.
